Hi...I am looking for some help and advice and hope someone can help me. I have a sofa and when it is cleaned it comes up lovely and shiny but after a few days two of the three cushions go dull and if we put a throwover on the sofa or my Wife sits on it in her fluffy dressing gown the material sticks to the leather and fluff is left on the leather.
Any help would be much appreciated
Thank
Leigh

Could you let me have some more details please or telephone me on 01423 881027.
How old is the furniture?
I will need to know the type of leather you have (is it a pigment coated or a bicast leather?)
What have you been using to clean it with?
Have you used a leather protector?
It sounds as though the finish has broken down on the leather and this can be caused by a number of things so details are important. The finish will then need replacing.
Look forward to hearing from you

Okay. The Sofa is 4 years old. Not sure if it is pigmant coated or bi cast (how would I tell?) It has always been cleaned with a leather cleaner until recently, My Wife ran out and used tan shoe polish and then started to wipe it over with one of those sponges that you use to shine shoes, I think it just has a transparent polish in it. The type of thing you shine a car dashboard with

I am having the same type of issue with my Sofa. Two of the 3 cushions are somewhat "sticky". If a person sits on the sofa for a period of time they are sticky to the sofa. It was somewhat embarrassing to say the least. I have been using the Force Field Leather cleaner and conditioner on the both of my leather sofa and love seat but don’t understand why the two cushions are reacting this way. Any assistance would be appreciated. |

Generally speaking this happens with Bicast leather and you will need to check whether this is what you have.
If the finish has not completely broken down then using LTT Cosmetic may help to prevent the stickiness.
If the finish has broken down it will need a technician to restore the finish using special laquers.
Using this type of product to clean and protect your leather is not recommended by specialists and may well have caused the damage to the finish on the leather Edited by admin - 16 Mar 2009 at 11:59am |

I also have a stickiness problem on a leather chair. The spot is 4" x 4" and is where your head rests when you're relaxing on the chair. I've tried rubbing with a water dampened cloth, washing with Murphy's Soap.
Would LTT Cosmetic (?) help. How/where can I get this product. Thank you. Anna H. |

The problem with the headrest will be head oils as this is the area that has been affected. Bicast leather needs protecting like regular leather and then a weekly wipe over with a damp cloth or a maintenance product such as Lazy Leather, this will stop the oils building up and prevent them from damaging the finish.
Phone LTT on +44 (0) 1423 881027 for Cosmetic, this can really help as long as the finish is not too broken down.
If the finish is really gone and cannot be fixed then you will have to have the panels replaced - the cost may well be prohibitive compared to that of a new suite.
Hope this helps
